International youth day

“What next” being the main theme of the day, 12th August 2014 marked a great youth empowerment day in Kenya. The V.I.Ps and other distinguished guests were expected to tell the youths what next to look forward to and give them hope as they go through their struggle.

Mental health being a major concern to the youths, the mental health ambassador Sitawa Wafula urged that there was much that was needed to be done by the Gov’t: to the people living with epilepsy and mental health issues.  From our guests they had much to say to the youths: unemployment and generation of jobs to the youths, creation of more opportunities to the youths, and much other more about mental health.

A torch was lit to symbolize a new era of youths in our country. Thus, youths were supposed to wake up and do something, and if they have the will to do it and pursue it, they will reach their destination, get to greater heights, their goals, objectives and dreams, and even the impossible. As this is their time they needed to utilize by being focused and alert, to make a better future, a better society and a better nation. For instance the Youth Enterprise Funds provided by the Gov’t, the challenge is now to the youths to come up with healthy projects, business plans or even nature their talents for those who are gifted.

All in all everybody has to understand that the youths are the backbone of every society, if we have strong and successful youths, we will have the best society, the best nation and be the best country. Therefore the youths should be prioritized and given an upper hand by both the Gov’t and society in every matter.
